La profesión del Diseño Gráfico en Tijuana

UABC 2015

This book documents the first 15 years of professional graphic design in Tijuana, Baja California. The pivotal year is 1987, when the first cohort of graphic design graduates entered the field, marking a turning point as the profession began to evolve to meet contemporary social needs and to differentiate itself from related disciplines that provided its theoretical foundations.
The research combines oral history interviews and firsthand accounts with archival documents and examples of period design work, creating a comprehensive account of the field’s origins. Current and aspiring designers will gain insight into the social role and foundations of the profession in this region.

El diseño de textos digitales interactivos

MacGraw Hill-UABC 2022

This book presents the idea that interactive digital publications—produced for screens rather than print—require a distinct design methodology. While Interactive Digital Texts (TDI) share features with books, magazines, and newspapers, they also resemble websites, mobile apps, and other screen-based media. Therefore, an effective approach to creating TDI must draw from both traditional print layout principles and interaction design criteria.
The book introduces a practical framework for graphic designers beginning to work with interactive digital texts, as well as offering a space for reflection for those with more experience in the field.
